TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

CAAG develops a five-year TIP that is updated each year.  The Region is allocated approximately $1.8 million per year.  CAAG begins the process by requesting nominations from member entities for road projects to be recommended by the TTAC for funding.

These nominations include a brief description of the project and the Functional Classification, Average Daily Traffic Count, Road Condition, Capacity Building and other relevant information about the proposed project.

The TTAC ranks the projects according to Regional criteria and priorities and forwards the recommendations to the CAAG Management Committee.  The Management Committee may agree with the TTAC’s recommendations or recommend different priorities.  These recommendations are forwarded to the Regional Council for final approval.
