The Central Region of Arizona is home to many historic sites. The two counties are located within easy reach of the State of Arizona's two major metropolitan areas, Phoenix and Tucson. The Central Arizona region contain a number of historic military campsites and battlegrounds dating as far back as as when the Spanish explorers came through the Region in the 17th Century.

A Civil War engagement was fought here and several locations in the region played significant roles during World War II.

Today, you can retrace the steps of those who came before at museum exhibits and monuments, which record the events that took place here in the past. This is a brief overview of some of these military history-related sites, as well as some treatures you can take home with you if in the area. Other treasures remain to be explored within this two-county Region!
