CAAG EMPLOYMENT CENTER ADJUSTMENT STRATEGY
CAAG’s Economic Adjustment Strategy was funded through a grant from the Economic Development Administration, and approved by the Economic Development District Board on March 24, 2010. These strategic recommendations will guide the future direction for CAAG’s Economic Development program.
The Strategy is the result of an 18-month work effort. It reviews economic conditions at the national, state, and market area scale for the CAAG Region, identifies employment centers and their characteristics throughout the two-county CAAG Region, presents a summary of local economic development programs and workshop results, identifies broad strategic directions to guide regional economic development for the CAAG Region, and lists specific local and regional projects to be pursued as “next steps.”
Implementation of the Strategy will be a joint effort among CAAG and its member entities. Coordination of implementation activities and review/support for proposed projects will be handled through CAAG’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee. The Committee will also have the responsibility of updates, revisions and additions to the strategy, which will be annually updated through each succeeding year’s Comprehenisive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) report.
Several of the strategic recommendations and specific projects contained in the Adjustment Strategy are dependent upon obtaining additional funding. Others may be implemented through the combined efforts of CAAG and the CEDS Committee.
