The Town of Star Valley is taking an important step in the development of their fledgling Town. A General Plan (sometimes referred to as a master plan or comprehensive plan) is a valuable tool to guide the Town's growth, development, and progress for 10 to 25 years.
State statutes (Growing Smarter legislation) requires all incorporated communities 2,500 residents or more, to develop a General Plan, and revise it, at a minimum, every 10 years. Smaller communities are also highly encouraged to develop General Plans.
A requirement for the development or revision of General Plans is strong public particiaption. Public meetings, along with a committee comprised of elected officials and private citizens are all involved in the General Plan process.
