These are estimates made by the Central Arizona Association of Governments. Their purpose is to provide existing population estimates for TAZ’s, which are used for transportation modeling. They do not match the official state estimates made by the state Department of Economic Security. Also, please note that these estimates have not yet been adopted by CAAG. The CAAG Planning Department is satisfied with the quality of these estimates, and intends to take them through the CAAG approval process –by the Population Technical Advisory Committee, then Management Committee, and finally Regional Council.
